How are you feeling?

The reason I ask is that the change between the seasons can affect us immensely. Particularly our digestive system and our emotional state. The transition from summer to autumn is an important one. It is a time of transition from the growth and expansive energies to the cooler energies of autumn and winter. It is a time to start contracting inwards.
As we draw our energy in (central point), we need good judgement to let go of whatever we don’t need for the coming season. The autumn season is associated with air and just like the trees shedding their leaves, us humans can do the same. Having positive discrimination to know what is useful to hold onto, and what would be of benefit to let go of.
Autumn Ayurveda/ Yoga Therapy Facts
Organs associated with this season are Lungs and Large Intestines.
The element is Air
Associated with Dryness
Associated with Lungs which function at their best between 3-5am
Also associated with the Large Intestines which function at their best between 5-7am
It is of no coincidence that people’s immunity is lowered at this time of year and may present itself in the form of a dry tickly cough or stomach viruses.
In Ayurveda there is a practice called Ritucharya. This is a practise of right living, in harmony with nature. ‘Ritu‘means season and ‘Charya‘ means routine and consists of Ayurvedic lifestyle changes. It leads to a lot of changes in the body and the digestive system is most affected by the change in weather.
When we are out of balance this will show up emotionally as some of the following: Clinging, Accumulating, Perfectionist, Judgmental, Righteous, Controlling, Complaining, Depressed, Vulnerable. It can manifest in the body in the form of constipation, insomnia, anxiety, bloating, dry skin and hair and weight loss.
That is why establishing a regular routine with consistent sleep patterns is important. Engaging in activities that promote relaxation and grounding such as gentle yoga, meditation, and spending time in nature can be of huge benefit to you.
This is where I hope to be of service to you. I plan to support you by continuing to offer my regular nourishing yoga classes and my 1:1 coaching/yoga weekly as well as some more fabulous new offerings:
